HSE Online covers all of HSE’s online education projects. Its main focus is the development of HSE’s social accountability as a centre of top quality education. HSE Online’s team is engaged in the development and provision of support to long-distance learning, as well as creating online courses for both HSE students and learners from all corners of the world, which helps to promote the university on the global market for educational services.
For students, HSE Online is a way to engage with the university via the screen. For teachers, it means an audience consisting of several thousands of curious and eager students. For researchers, it’s a promising platform for new discoveries. And for HSE, it means new models for teaching and study. Further details can be found here.

Teachers who create online courses shall receive expert support from the Centre for Psychometric Analysis of Online Education. The online learning platform contains information about students’ every action: when they log into a course, their attempts to pass tests, and the exact time of their activities. This digital footprint, which relies on the metrics of 1,000s of students, provides us with a Big Data resource, which, in turn, can be analysed to identify patterns in student behaviour and ways of improving course quality. The eLearning Office develops and relies on such analysis for online courses. The results are used to provide expert recommendations to course creators.
Furthermore, a substantial analysis will be held in regards to evaluation materials before course content is posted on platforms, and consultations will be provided to creators at all stages of online course development. On the Centre’s website, you can find recommendations for online course creators and assistants on the development of test assignments. In addition, useful materials for course creation can be found in this electronic handbook.
