HSE Online covers all of HSE’s online education projects. Its main focus is the development of HSE’s social accountability as a centre of top quality education. HSE Online’s team is engaged in the development and provision of support to long-distance learning, as well as creating online courses for both HSE students and learners from all corners of the world, which helps to promote the university on the global market for educational services.
For students, HSE Online is a way to engage with the university via the screen. For teachers, it means an audience consisting of several thousands of curious and eager students. For researchers, it’s a promising platform for new discoveries. And for HSE, it means new models for teaching and study. Further details can be found here.

The eSTARS (eLearning Stakeholders and Researchers Summit) international conference is the joint project of HSE and the Coursera global online platform.
eSTARS is a far-reaching platform, which brings together global stakeholders, specialists and researchers in online education from around the world. Participants meet at this event not only to exchange best practices, but, primarily, to engage in an interdisciplinary discussion of online education as a socio-cultural, philosophical, economic, psychological and communicative phenomenon.
In 2018, the 2 nd International eSTARS Conference was held, where the main focus was the ‘Role of Universities in the Human Capital Development within the Context of the Digital Economy’. The conference was attended by over 500 participants from 16 countries, including the USA, UK, China, Italy, France, Switzerland, Croatia, Lithuania, South Africa, the Czech Republic and others. Over 100 speakers presented at the conference’s 21 sections, featuring leading Russian and foreign experts, representatives of the business community and tech firms, as well as managers and specialists from over 50 universities in 29 Russian cities, from Kaliningrad to Vladivostok, and 14 foreign universities.
eSTARS 2018 was organized with the support of the Network of Universities from the Capitals of Europe (UNICA), while the publication Inside Higher Ed was the event’s general media partner.
