Dmitry Abbakumov's article "Psychometrics of MOOCs: Measuring Learners’ Proficiency" was published

The journal "Psychologica Belgica" published an article by Dmitry Abbakumov co-authored with Piet Desmet and Wim van den Noortgate

In the article, the authors establish a link between the science of pedagogical and psychological dimensions, psychometrics, and mass open online courses (MOOCs). They describe the general principles and traditional approaches to measuring the level of student readiness, discuss the limitations imposed by the specifics of MOOCs in the application of traditional approaches, and summarize the latest psychometric research and development for MOOCs. The authors also describe areas in psychometric modeling that may be interesting for future MOOC research.
